Assembly & commissioning
REFERENCE PROJECT
Lifting a portal of a ship unloader onto a self-unloading cement ship
01.
Task
A mechanical ship unloader for cement and cementitious materials was to be installed on a bulk carrier so that it could empty its cargo independently and transfer it to a conveyor system on land.
02.
Challenge
Accessibility was difficult as the bulk carrier, with a size of approx. 2,000 dwt, only had approx. 4 m of space next to the hatches to allow the ship unloader to be accommodated.
03.
Solution
The unloader was dismantled into partial segments and installed piece by piece on the ship. Great attention was paid to the laying of the rails on board the ship, these had to run exactly parallel.
